Episode 8, during Bernkastel's short game, upon Shannon's death, Kanon disappears forever. This page exists to avoid revealing critical plot twists for the entire series without warning due to the nature of this character. The implication is that she cannot do this because she is Kanon, and if she brings him out Yasu would murder Will on the spot. Upon attempting this repeatedly, Shannon "glitches out", asking him in a weird monotone voice is he's sure. She thought of all these possible ways to do it (which are the different episodes), but the version that actually happened was the one we saw at the end of ep 7, where the adults solved the epitaph and Rudolf and Kyrie end up as the culprits. In Episode 7, Will attempts to make Shannon go get Kanon, implying he wishes to see them both in the same room. The way I interpretted it is that Yasu wanted to do it. This implies that there is one fewer person than we think, in this case that means Shannon and Kanon being one person rather than two. The Red Truth at the end of Episode 6: The entire island + Erika = 17 people, whereas we previously thought there were 17 (18 if we include Erika).

All of Episode 6, particularly the duel that implies Shannon or Kanon may achieve love and become a full person, but not both. I've always thought the whole idea of Yasu. Lion's gender is very explicitly left as a mystery by Ryukishi, people go either way in their interpretations.

Going by Shkanontrice, the solution is that his corpse has been found, it's Shannon's corpse. Lion is a boy, right He was given an androgynous appearance. Most suspicious of all is Episode 4 where Kanon's body cannot be found and Beatrice has to give Battler the Red Truth to confirm his death. This makes him extremely suspicicous, even when the Red Truth declares his death. She is the Golden Witch Beatrice 's true form. George dies after seeing Shannon again and Jessica can only speak to Kanon while she's blindfolded). Sayo Yasuda, better known by the nickname Yasu, is a character from the visual novel series Umineko no Naku Koro ni. Godha was probably threatened or paid off into playing along. Incidentally the fact that both Shannon and Kanon revived in this episode, even in the Fantasy scene, add more sus points to both. Genji is the main accomplice, but he only sets things up for her. Kanon's corpse is never seen (by Battler) in Episode 1, 2 and 4 (in Episode 3, the solution given is that Kanon pretended to have died, assisted by Nanjo who examined the body. The most damning ones are in the Answer arcs. You can infer that Shannon and Kanon are the same people though clues presented. The manga, being released years later, is more willing to state a direct answer. The visual novel itself never reveals it because it did not want to just hand the reader a solution from god.
A point it's trying to make is that you have to try yourself to find the truth or create your own version that is valuable to you.
