The album got mostly good reviews from reviewers. It also was awarded gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Rise Against released Siren Song of the Counter Culture in August 2004. Shortly after the band signed with Geffen, Mohney left and was replaced by guitarist Chris Chasse. Although Fall Out Boy receive credit for elevating the reputation of Chicago’s vibrant punk scene, Rise Against deserve just as much shine.
